What We Treat
At Lighthouse Counseling Services we specialize in a variety of treatment modalities that we adjust to what you need most.
ADHD

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects both children and adults. While it is most commonly diagnosed during childhood, ADHD can continue into adolescence and adulthood, often presenting different challenges as individuals grow. At Lighthouse Counseling Services, we understand that living with ADHD can be overwhelming—not just for the individual, but for the entire family. Our goal is to support and guide each client through understanding their unique experience, while providing effective tools and strategies to manage symptoms and build meaningful, balanced lives.
Anxiety & Depression

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or both, it’s important to remember that help is available—and healing is possible. No one should have to suffer in silence. With the right tools, support, and guidance, individuals can regain control of their lives and begin to experience joy and purpose again.
We are here to walk alongside you on your journey toward mental wellness, offering compassionate care and evidence-based strategies to help you thrive.
Attachment

Attachment is the emotional bond we form with others, beginning in infancy with parents or caregivers and continuing throughout life with family, friends, and partners. These early relationships help shape our attachment style, influencing how we connect, trust, and regulate emotions in relationships. When attachment needs are not fully met, challenges such as fear of abandonment, difficulty trusting others, emotional distance, anxiety, or depression can develop. The good news is that healing attachment wounds is possible.
Children & Teens

With the struggles of growing up and life, our young ones need a little extra help navigating their emotions and behaviors. It is common to find that as they learn to understand themselves and the world around them, they may struggle with “big feelings”, difficult transitions, or challenging life and/or social situations. With the right support, they can learn to build resilience, have more emotional awareness, and increase healthy coping skills. At Lighthouse, we are happy.
Grief & Loss

Grief is the emotional and psychological response to significant loss. It is a deeply personal and often overwhelming experience that affects individuals in unique and complex ways. Although commonly associated with the death of a loved one, grief can stem from a wide range of life experiences. Divorce, job loss, loss of independence, receiving a terminal diagnosis, miscarriage, estrangement, or even the theft of a meaningful possession can all lead to a profound sense of grief.
At its core, grief represents a break in the emotional connection we once had with something or someone important to us. That loss creates a void, and adjusting to a world without that person, role, or experience can take time, emotional energy, and support.
Life Transitions

Life changes can be challenging to navigate, whether they are expected or unexpected, positive or negative. Such transitions—like starting a new job, relocating to a new city or country, going through a divorce, getting married, or welcoming a new child—can take a toll on both the body and mind.
Life transitions can include, but are not limited to, a change in relationship status, a move, health issues, job loss/changes, etc.
Marriage & Couples

Relationships can be both rewarding and challenging, whether you are navigating the transition of becoming an empty nester, struggling to raise children while maintaining your partnership, dealing with infidelity, or managing disagreements about extended family. Every stage of life can bring its own stressors and changes that impact a couple’s ability to communicate effectively, maintain intimacy, and feel emotionally supported by one another. At Lighthouse Counseling Services, we understand that even the healthiest relationships encounter difficulties, and we are committed to providing a compassionate, supportive space where couples can process, heal, and grow together.
Narcissistic Abuse

Narcissistic abuse is a form of emotional and psychological manipulation often perpetrated by individuals with narcissistic traits or Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). This type of abuse can occur in romantic relationships, families, workplaces, or friendships and typically involves patterns of control, devaluation, gaslighting, and emotional exploitation. Unlike physical abuse, the wounds caused by narcissistic abuse are often invisible but deeply impactful, leaving survivors feeling confused, diminished, and emotionally exhausted.
Postpartum Perinatal

A supported mom is a stronger mom, and a stronger mom can better care for herself and her child.
Becoming a mom is a life-changing experience in so many ways! While we often hear about the physical changes a woman’s body goes through during pregnancy and childbirth, one area that doesn't get as much attention is the profound impact birth has on a mother’s brain. The process of becoming a mother doesn’t just change your life—it changes your brain.
